CI CI the Rotty goes to Outdoor Retailer

I just happen to be one of those people who likes to take my dog everywhere - after all, I like having her around
and think she will have a better time with me than sitting in the backyard or in a kennel, no matter how nice they are.

I packed up my 1985 VW Westfalia but didn't get the air conditioning fixed, so I knew traveling through Idaho and Utah would be rough.
As I was going to kayak on rivers anyway, I figured I would be able to give Ci Ci plenty of swimming opportunities!
However, since I've had this Rottweiler (almost half a year now) she hasn't seemed too excited about the water!
(Note - you can tell some of these images were taken with my Nokia 6600 cell phone)

She says, so why are you torturing me?

Let's see how much of this water I can get off, and as soon as possible!
(At least her Ruffwear Beacon stayed on)

The staff at Outdoor Retailer were very gracious about giving Ci Ci a badge - good thing as I had her at doggy day care on the first day and she couldn't believe I was leaving her with a bunch of strangers!
She still seems to be unsure about wearing her harness and badge, but it's better than the alternative..

Before I knew what was happening, we (mostly Ci Ci) were a big hit!

Frank Copren (OS Systems Drysuits) insisted on taking these pictures!

I hadn't realized what an asset Ci Ci would be for me at the show. One of my goals is to get more dog accessories into my online store - after all, I'm usually at the top of Google for dog accessories and I get way more hits than I do sales. So what else do I need in my store? Hmmm....

Jill, at Katie's Bumpers, shows me how to teach Ci Ci to use the "take" command.

We then let Ci Ci pick her favorite toy!
What a lot of choices!

I grew up with Rottweilers as my aunt led the way importing them to the United States. We used to play with them in the kitchen!
Ci Ci is a great grand-daughter of my aunt's champion
Nelson v.h. Brabantpark. She is a great ambassador for the breed and
lends credence to the slogan "it's the deed, not the breed".
(Unknown show family)

So many people asked if they could pet and hug Ci Ci -
I had a hard time making my way down the isle!
On the other hand I made a lot of new
friends and found more new products than I would have otherwise!

Sporting her new Life is Good collar and leash, she drinks from a
Orikaso foldable bowl.
These foldable dishes are made in England and distributed by
Axis in Everett, WA.

Peeking under the door of the ladies room...
what are the other ladies doing?

Finally the road trip home! Dogs aren't allowed at Burgdorf Hot Springs
(located above Mcall, ID) but she did get to roam out front.
Ah, to be a dog again.

How about this pointer imitation?

Three Rivers Resort (great dinners!)
on the corner of the Selway and Lochsa Rivers.
My new Wavesport EZG 42 is hiding on the roof of the van -
easy is a good word for this kayak!

Hotel break -
oh, life is rough!

(I know, she is not supposed to be on the bed)

More Toys for the Backyard!

Chuckit, Cool Pooch, Nite Ize L.E.D.,
and a Simple ball (deflated so she can grab it).
The ball is inscribed: "good sportsmanship=good citizenship".

She even seems to be glad to see that wily cat Oscar!
